MN State Senate District 31
This was our most difficult endorsement.
Jeremy Miller has proven he's a public-minded public servant who comes from a civic-minded family. He serves the community well on a variety of boards and initiatives.
He has campaigned hard and would do us proud in St. Paul.
When Sharon Erickson Ropes is being the thoughtful senator who listens well and cares deeply, she deserves a second term. When she's the front person for Sharon and the Sycophants, she becomes shrill and self-serving, introducing hundreds of bills destined only to constipate the Legislature and garner attention. And some of her campaign volunteers need a new hobby.
In the end, we thought Miller had good ideas but lacked the specifics needed to lead in St. Paul.
Ropes' grasp of the issues and the district make her the slightly stronger choice - as long as she focuses on others and not herself.
This is probably the most entertaining piece I've read all week...and I've read a lot of political stuff lately.
