Unbelievable

I went to a work-related meeting yesterday afternoon, and heard something so PC it passed beyond ridiculous and made me laugh out loud in the meeting. A gentleman speaking before the group used the term "persons of record" instead of "offenders," and as you may imagine, at some point in the past "offenders" replaced "former inmates," let alone the "convicts" and "criminals." "Persons of record"?!? What does that mean, exactly? It's so vague, it could mean any kind of record - criminal, exemplary, Congressional, anything. Obviously, I was rather incredulous at his turn of phrase.
