the 4th

Today was a great day - the 4th is always better with good weather, good friends, good food and good conversation. Throw in a spectacular car, an incredibly stupid movie, and roasting marshmallows over an outdoor firepit (complete with gas logs!), and you have yourself a winner.

Sat outside most of the day, lounging around with other people, enjoying the holiday in a lackadaisical manner. Isn't that the best, though? It's never as much fun when you're rushing around so much you can't enjoy it. Trust me: we didn't rush anywhere. Except when Ben gave me a ride in his new car; then we rushed, just a bit. It looks a little something like this... except a different year and a few different options. Very nice.

Saw War of the Worlds. Still strongly dislike Tom Cruise. Dumb movie.

Tried a new kind of starburst, too. Fruit & Cream. Have you ever sniffed a peach-scented candle and thought, 'It'd be really great if they made that heavenly scent into an edible flavor so I can just bite into it'? Well, they have and you can! The peach flavored fruit & cream starbursts are available for your enjoyment. Mmmmm.

so that was my day. Lounged by water. Ate grilled food and starbursts. Watched movie. Caught a few fireworks on display in my local sky. Roasted marshmallows for s'mores.
